Putin Highlights Concerns Over Europes Role in Ukraine Conflict

According to a latest report by Russian Tass on July 5th, Russian President's Assistant Ushakov stated at a press conference that Russian President Putin has drawn the attention of U.S. President Trump to the fact that Europe and Kiev are betting on the continuation or even further escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Ushakov accused, “Kiev and its European supporters hope to continue or even escalate the conflict, and carry out terrorist acts against civilians.”

He added that Putin pointed out in his conversations with US leaders that Kiev and the capitals of European countries 'acted based on a misjudgment of the situation on the front lines'.

According to Reuters, Ushakov referred to the long-range strikes by Ukraine against Russian targets, which have caused a shortage of fuel in several regions of Russia.

Earlier on the 5th, Ushakov stated that Trump had a nearly 90-minute conversation with Putin, and expressed his willingness to help find solutions to the Ukraine crisis.

The President of the United States once again confirmed that he is prepared to make efforts to bring the military operations to an end as soon as possible and find ways to overcome this crisis.

Ushakov described this conversation as “practical and constructive”, and stated that Russia seeks to “resolve conflicts through political and diplomatic means, while fully considering Russia’s fundamental policies”.

According to RT and CNN reports, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Putin personally congratulated Trump and the entire American people during the call, on this important holiday marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
