According to a report by New Delhi Television in India on July 10th local time, a 9-year-old girl named Amira committed suicide by jumping off a building during school classes last November. The incident has once again attracted public attention due to the exposure of new surveillance footage.
Amira’s mother, Shivani Mina, appeared on a show recently. She recalled the day of the incident: “Amira was very happy. She was the first to arrive at the classroom and warmly welcomed her friends. She took out an Indian cracker from her backpack and started eating it, chatting with her friends. After that, she went to dance, dancing for nearly an hour and twenty minutes. She danced with great energy. Around 11 a.m., the bullying began.”
Father Vija Miña also confirmed: "Everything was normal at first, but then things changed—the children started to cause trouble for her, bullying her. Classes continued, and there were two teachers present at the scene. My daughter went to the teachers five times to report the situation."
"The teacher threatened her. The situation escalated further, so we demanded the headmaster be charged with inciting suicide from the beginning. She could have easily stopped this, but she remained silent." He added.
Amira’s mother said that her daughter was bullied by a boy for a full 55 minutes, and the teacher did nothing about it. “The teacher pushed her into a corner, and she also participated in the bullying. This was intentional neglect on the part of the teacher.”
She claimed that the teacher was still busy shopping online at that time.
Then, Amira left the classroom, and no one followed her. At 12:28 pm, Amira jumped from the fourth floor of the teaching building.
Amira's mother said, "When the teacher learned about this, she began to look through her notebook and did not report it. She kept pretending that there were no absent children in the class, so the school couldn't confirm the child's identity. It wasn't until 1 o'clock that the teacher reported to the principal that one child was missing from the class, named Amira. Then, at 1:08, they called my husband and asked him to come to the hospital, saying that Amira had sustained some injuries."
She pleaded with the police to arrest the teacher and demanded that she be charged with instigating suicide. She believed that this was a complete failure by the teacher in her duties.
Additionally, Amira’s father stated that over a period of one and a half years, Amira was “bullied three or four times at school.” He tried to communicate with the school, but did not prevent this situation from happening.
