FIFA Sells Turf From 2026 World Cup Final for $450 Each

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will be held on July 20 in Beijing time. However, FIFA has already started selling the turf for the competition venues in advance. According to an article by The Associated Press on July 10, the turf for the World Cup final at the MetLife Stadium has been available for sale on FIFA’s official online store, with each piece of turf being sold for $450.

According to information published on the FIFA official website, each piece of turf measures 17.5×17.5×17.5, with no indication of whether the units are inches, centimeters, or millimeters. The turf will be sealed in high-quality acrylic material, and a USB souvenir will be included. This product is only available for delivery in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. It will be shipped after the World Cup finals.

Projected this measure will create an additional $1.1 million in revenue for FIFA.

American entertainment and sports television network ESPN noted that it is not uncommon for grass surfaces at high-level stadiums to be sold. FIFA has also previously sold the grass surfaces used in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, where Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain. However, during this World Cup, players and coaches from many countries criticized the poor quality of the grass surfaces at the Manchester City Stadium.
