Iran Denies US Negotiation Proposal Amid Sanctions

On July 10 local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagaie stated that Iran has never proposed negotiations with the United States.

"We have not demanded negotiations with the United States," according to PressTV news from Iran, Bahonar also said that Iran has accepted the request of the mediating party and will visit Tehran to discuss the latest situation."

Bagaie also mentioned that the United States has repeatedly violated the memorandum of understanding dated June 17, including the cancellation of oil sales exemptions and the implementation of new sanctions. He warned that such actions would be met with countermeasures, and Iran’s policy remains firmly based on the principle of “trade promises for promises”.

On the same day, Iran's Parliament Speaker Karimzadeh stated that Tehran 'does not trust the Americans and will not submit to oppression'. He emphasized that only countries prepared for war can negotiate with Washington.

Earlier that day, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform “Real Social” stating that Iran wished to continue “negotiations” with the U.S., and that the U.S. had agreed to continue those negotiations. Subsequently, the U.S. Treasury website announced the introduction of new sanctions against Iran.
