According to multiple British media reports on the 13th local time, the UK has classified the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran as a 'terrorist organization'. This means that joining the organization, attending its meetings, or wearing its symbols in public is considered a criminal offense in the UK.
British Home Secretary Sheeba Mahmoud stated in a statement that the UK has identified activities related to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which involve threats to life and intimidation within British territory.
Earlier this year, there were reports that the United States was increasing pressure on the UK, demanding that the UK classify the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a “terrorist organization”. British Prime Minister May refused to do so.
At that time, the British government stated that labeling the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a “terror organization” would not have any practical effect, and would only give Britain a sense of self-esteem.
