On July 12 local time, the U.S. Central Command posted a statement on social media, stating that at 5 p.m. Eastern Time on that day, the U.S. military began a new round of strikes against Iran, “in order to continue weakening its ability to attack civilian sailors and merchant ships that travel freely through the Strait of Hormuz.”

It is reported that this is the fourth time in one week that the U.S. military has launched attacks against Iran.

Xinhua News Agency reported in the early hours of the 13th local time that explosions were heard in various places such as the port of Ahvaz and the Shirak region in Iran.

The US military announced on the evening of July 11 that it had completed its third strike against Iran this week.

During three nights of air strikes this week, the US Central Command targeted more than 300 targets.
