On July 17, the WeChat public account "Chinese Embassy in Myanmar" announced that recently, the Steering Committee for the Central Mobile Device Identification and Registration System (CEIR) in Myanmar issued a notice stating that passengers entering from Yangon, Naypyidaw, and Mandalay International Airports are only allowed to carry two mobile phones (including the ones they are using). Mobile phones that are not registered with the CEIR system must be declared at the airport customs counter following these procedures: fill out the "Passenger Declaration Form" and accurately fill in the International Mobile Equipment Identity Number (IMEI) of the mobile phones. Please submit the following documents at the CEIR one-stop service counter on-site.

Passengers must register in the CEIR system and pay the relevant taxes within 30 days (calculated from the date of filling out the 'Passenger Declaration Form'). Failure to do so will result in additional penalties, and network communication services will be cut off. Within one year from the first declaration date, each person can apply for registration of a maximum of 2 mobile phones.
The Chinese embassies and consulates in Myanmar remind Chinese citizens who plan to travel to Myanmar to comply with the above regulations and to register in a timely manner, so as not to affect their trip in Myanmar.
