According to reports by the American National Broadcasting Company (NBC) and Politico News Network, on July 17 local time, U.S. President Trump jokingly said that the most unforgettable moment of this World Cup was when he called FIFA President Inzaghi and suggested they reconsider the red card suspension imposed on U.S. player Barrogon.

Trump said at the FIFA reception that "I was forced to call Infantino and make a suggestion."

"I said, 'In case of Van Dijk, I wanted to suggest a complaint. Let this player continue participating in the game.' Of course, I didn't say it that way. What I meant was that I wanted to file a complaint." Trump said.

On July 2, in the quarter-final match between the U.S. team and the Bosnia and Herzegovina team, Balongon was sent off with a red card for stamping on the ankle of their player Tarik Mujharemojevic. According to regulations, Balongon will be automatically suspended and will miss the next game of the team.

The International Federation of Football Associations Societies announced on the 5th that American player Folarin Balogun, who was sent off with a red card during the match against the Bosnia and Herzegovina team, will be banned for one match, but the suspension will be postponed for one year.

On the 6th, Trump stated that he had personally asked Infante to review the suspension imposed on Barloggon. “All I did was ask for a review. I didn’t say ‘you must do this.’”

Later that day, Team USA lost 1-4 and was eliminated from the round of 16.

On July 17th, Trump said, “I had no idea how things would develop, but you know, the result is better now, because there are no disputes. They won the match, and all our players participated.”

Then, Trump said that the United States should host the World Cup again, but Mexico and Canada should be excluded.

He said that Ventino should choose a host country for the next World Cup. “You can choose another country to host it, so that some of everyone’s anger, hatred, and dissatisfaction can be alleviated.”

Trump also revealed that Gianni Venturi had suggested that China and the United States co-host the World Cup together, and joked, "There could be a nice short flight between the matches. The players would love that."

It is reported that the host country for the 2038 World Cup has not yet been determined. Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay will co-host the 2030 World Cup. Saudi Arabia has won the right to host the 2034 World Cup.
