US Attack on Irans Darvaz Nuclear Power Plant

On July 19th, the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization issued a statement stating that at 3:39 a.m. on that day, the United States attacked the Darvaz nuclear power plant that was under construction in Iran.

This organization condemns the US military's attack, stating it "violates international law with its aggressive and brutal conduct" and highlights that the Dar Al-Hoom nuclear power plant is an essential project for Iran in achieving technological independence. However, the statement did not disclose more details about the damage caused by the attack.

Later that day, the International Atomic Energy Agency spoke on this matter.

Secretary-General Grosi has called on all parties to maintain maximum military restraint around nuclear facilities. The agency has contacted the Iranian side and will provide updates once more information becomes available.

The International Atomic Energy Agency also stated that the attack on Dalhousie did not pose a risk of radioactivity, as the nuclear power plant is still in the initial construction phase. At least, there was no nuclear material present when the agency last visited.
