On July 19th, the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia announced that the Cambodian government, undaunted by pressure, reaffirmed its commitment to implementing a one-China policy.
On July 17, the foreign affairs department of the Taiwan authorities announced the cancellation of the so-called “visa facilitation measures” towards Cambodia, claiming that “Cambodia has betrayed Taiwan’s good intentions and instead voiced support for the one-China policy.” In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia stated that Cambodia regards Taiwan as a province of China and will not change its position of adhering to the one-China policy.
