According to a report by the Kuwaiti News Agency, on July 21 local time, Sheikh Abdullah Mishaal Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Defense of Kuwait, said during a ceremony held by the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait that Kuwait and China maintain 'excellent bilateral relations' and a strategic partnership, especially in terms of cooperation in defense and security areas where significant achievements have been made.
Sheikh Abdullah said that relations between Kuwait and China are based on mutual respect, constructive dialogue, and the common interests of maintaining regional stability. The two countries have maintained close cooperation over a long period and continuously pushed bilateral relations forward.

According to reports, officials from the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait also stated in their speech that in recent years, there has been continuous positive progress in military cooperation between China and Kuwait. The Chinese side wishes to continue implementing the defense cooperation agreements reached by both sides, further expand coordination and practical cooperation in military operations, and continuously deepen strategic collaboration in the defense field between the two countries.
According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, China and Kuwait established diplomatic relations on March 22, 1971. Kuwait is one of the first Gulf Arab countries to establish diplomatic relations with New China. In 2018, China and Kuwait announced the establishment of a strategic partnership.
The cooperation between China and Kuwait is progressing smoothly. By 2025, the bilateral trade volume will reach $18.578 billion. Of this amount, China's exports to Kuwait will be $6.041 billion, while its imports from Kuwait will be $12.537 billion. China mainly exports mechanical and electrical products, high-tech products, and textiles to Kuwait, and mainly imports crude oil and petrochemical products from Kuwait. Kuwait is China's ninth largest source of crude oil imports. By 2025, China will import 19.022 million tons of crude oil from Kuwait.
