The related cases are currently under investigation.
In response to the above situation, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka has immediately activated the consular protection emergency mechanism. It has urged the Sri Lankan police to intensify their investigation efforts and resolve the case as soon as possible. Currently, it is the summer season, and the number of Chinese tourists visiting Sri Lanka has increased significantly. The embassy once again reminds Chinese citizens in Sri Lanka to enhance their awareness of safety precautions. When traveling, it is advisable to travel in groups, not carry large amounts of cash with them, avoid going out at night, and never go alone to secluded places. In case of an emergency, it is important to remain calm, handle the situation appropriately, avoid disputes or physical conflicts, and report to the local police in a timely manner to protect one’s legitimate rights and interests.
