According to CNN, on July 30 local time, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Egypt is an "important friend and partner" for Iran in the region, and Egypt's security is crucial for Iran. The day before, two ships at the Damietta port in Egypt were attacked by drones and set on fire.
Egyptian authorities say that the incident occurred on July 29th. Currently, no party has claimed responsibility for the attack, and no casualties were reported. If confirmed to be a deliberate attack, this would be the first time that Egypt has been directly involved in the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran.

Alagji did not directly mention the port attack incident when posting on the social platform X that day, but called on regional countries to remain vigilant and prevent so-called "false flag operations" aimed at disrupting regional peace.
As the US-Iran conflict continues to have spillover effects, more ports, military facilities, and shipping targets in Middle Eastern countries have been affected recently.
