According to Xinhua News Agency on August 3rd, Georgian Prime Minister Kobaishze recently stated that the enhanced relationship between Georgia and China this year has been upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, creating new opportunities for further expansion of political and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Kobakhidze said at a reception held in Tbilisi to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the departure of the ambassador that China is currently Georgia's third-largest trade partner and the second-largest market for the export of Georgian products. The two countries have implemented visa-free travel, expanded direct flights, and established a route from Tbilisi to Shanghai, which provides favorable conditions for promoting tourism, business, and investment cooperation.
Kobahizze expressed appreciation for China's commitment to international cooperation and maintaining stability. He said, "Peace and stability hold a special place among the many principles of our bilateral relations. China is a model in this regard, dedicated to international cooperation and maintaining stability."
Kobakhidze stated that the achievements of the Georgian-Czech cooperation demonstrate that the partnership between the two countries brings tangible benefits to both sides. The Georgian side highly appreciates that China always regards Georgia as an equal and respected partner.
Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian said that in recent years, cooperation between China and Georgia has accelerated, and the level of bilateral relations has been continuously improving. Both countries always support each other on issues related to their core interests. Georgia actively supports the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives.
From Georgian politics, economics, military and society, approximately 380 representatives attended the reception.
