In the letter, Xi emphasized that Fidel Castro was an outstanding leader of the Cuban Communist Party and the Cuban revolution. He dedicated his entire life to the magnificent cause of national liberation, safeguarding national sovereignty, and building socialism for the Cuban people. He left an immortal historical legacy for the Cuban people and also made indelible contributions to the development of world socialist affairs. Fidel Castro was the founder and promoter of China-Cuba relations, making historic contributions to the development of these relations. It was due to his vision and personal efforts that Cuba became the first Latin American country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. Through long-term joint efforts by both sides, China-Cuba relations have become a model of unity and cooperation among socialist countries, and sincere mutual assistance among countries in the global South.
