Chinese-Filipino Law Enforcement Combats Cross-Border Gambling Syndicate

According to a message posted on the WeChat official account of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines on August 19, recently, Chinese and Filipino law enforcement agencies collaborated to capture and deport a fugitive named Chen, who was suspected of organizing cross-border gambling crimes. The cross-border gambling syndicate led by Chen established an online gambling platform in the Philippines. They recruited Chinese citizens by promoting their services through websites, social media advertisements, and by hiring agents and acquaintances. By manipulating backend data, setting harsh withdrawal conditions, prolonging the gambling time, and increasing the frequency of gambling, they induced gamblers to lose all their funds. The alleged amount involved exceeded 2.92 billion yuan, posing a serious threat to the lives, property, and legal rights of the people. It also posed a serious threat to the country's economic security, social stability, and national image.

The embassy solemnly reminds: Gambling is a dangerous activity that leads to ten losses and ten deceptions. It harms both others and oneself. One moment of indulgence in gambling can lead to lifelong regrets! Please be aware of the pitfalls of gambling and consciously distance yourself from any form of gambling activities. Do not risk your own safety by engaging in gambling.
