Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force Officer Demoted After Breaking Into Chinese Embassy

According to a report by the Japanese Kyodo News, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force announced on August 28 that Major Villageo Kudan, who was charged in March for breaking into the Chinese Embassy in Japan and for illegal entry into buildings, had been demoted as a disciplinary measure.

Muraki Koji, 24 years old, is a third-class naval officer of the Japan Ground Self-defense Force, stationed at Sawayo Base in Miyazaki Prefecture.

On March 24, the Chinese Embassy in Japan announced that on the morning of the 24th, a person claiming to be a member of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces broke into our embassy through hacking and threatened to kill Chinese diplomats in the name of some so-called gods. This incident seriously violates the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and poses a serious threat to the safety of our embassy staff and property. The nature of this incident is extremely severe. This incident once again demonstrates that extreme right-wing ideologies and forces are very rampant in Japan. The dangerous reality of the Self-Defense Forces’ expansion and lack of control must draw the attention of the international community.
