According to The Independent and the American news website Mediaite, on August 27 local time, U.S. President Donald Trump released a chart that ranked the presidents of the United States, with him himself being listed as the greatest president.
According to reports, the above post is in response to a video report by the American cable news network CNN. The video stated that recent polls showed 53% of Republicans saying Trump is their most admired Republican president, surpassing Lincoln and Reagan.

Trump's chart divides previous presidents into six categories: greatest, great, near-great, average, below average, and failed.
Trump occupies the highest rank alone.

According to the introduction, this chart is based on a presidential ranking published by the magazine ‘Life’ in 1948. The original ranking was based on research conducted with 55 American history experts. The version released by Trump largely retains the original ranking and the omissions present in the original version. However, it places Biden, Obama, and Carter—three Democratic presidents—in the ‘failed’ category, while placing Trump at the top of the list.
It is noteworthy that several former U.S. presidents were not included in this ranking, including Kennedy, Eisenhower, Truman, Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., and Bush Jr.
According to The Independent, despite Trump's high self-assessment, many experts disagree. Michael Bailey, a political scientist at Georgetown University in the United States, recently told The New York Times that Trump “undoubtedly is the worst president in American history.” He said that corruption and the damage caused to America’s long-standing institutions and reputation were far beyond anything seen before. In 2024, a survey of historians and political scientists ranked Trump last.
Reports say that Americans also have negative views of Trump. Last week, his approval rating dropped to a low, with only one-third of Americans supporting him.
