According to reports by Russian media agency TASS on August 27, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian military deployed land-based, air-based, and sea-based precision-guided weapons, as well as attack drones, to launch a large-scale night-time air strike against military-related facilities in Ukraine on the early morning of August 27. The strikes targeted the energy infrastructure that is essential for the operation of the port in the Odessa region. As a result, several industrial cities and military logistics nodes around the capital Kiev were also affected.
According to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry, the targets of the strike include the Ukrainian military-industrial complex, metallurgical and oil refining enterprises, as well as several logistics centers. The cities targeted include Kyiv, Borispol, Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, and Kherson.
In the Odesa region, the Russian army not only attacked the energy facilities that supply power to the ports, but also destroyed the infrastructure within three ports—Odesa, Chernomorsk, and Leninsky—used for unloading military supplies and fuel lubricants. Additionally, they targeted 24 Ukrainian military equipment warehouses in the ports of Odesa and Chernomorsk.
Additionally, the Russian army attacked a refinery in Kremenchuk. This refinery not only supplies fuel to the Ukrainian army but also handles the transportation of foreign petroleum products. Meanwhile, steel mills in Zaporizhia and Kherson were targeted by air strikes due to their role in providing raw materials for military production.
In the Kirov region, a drone assembly workshop producing the "Hornet" flying missile was hit. The San Park office and logistics complex in Kirov, as well as the Aleksandrovsky logistics center in Borisov—which serve as the largest distribution centers for FPV attack drones and parts, as well as large military and civilian storage facilities—also suffered significant damage. Additionally, a workshop in the Odesa region that assembled drones and produced nitrates for the Ukrainian army was also destroyed.
The military report released by the Russian Defense Ministry on the 27th also stated that the pace of Russian military attacks has remained "unchallenged," with various assault forces approaching important towns in Donbas such as Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Drujkovka.
According to data from the Russian Defense Ministry, Russia's air defense systems downed 19 aerial-guided bombs, 2 American-made "HIMARS" rocket launchers, and 591 fixed-wing drones on Ukrainian forces on the 27th.
