According to Italian news agency Ansa, on August 26 local time, a helicopter crashed after hitting a cable car suspension while flying in northern Italy, killing two elderly people in their sixties on board.
The incident occurred near Lake Campillio in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. Eyewitnesses reported that at around 11:30 local time on the 26th, a helicopter collided with a cableway that served the border between Verbano-Cusio-Ossola province and Switzerland, instantly turning into a "ball of fire".
The wreckage fell on the grass by Lake Canpilcholi, and the accident resulted in the death of two elderly people in their sixties aboard the plane.

The rotorcraft is a type of aircraft that resembles helicopters in appearance, but its mechanical structure differs. It generates lift through the rotation of the rotor at the top, and its forward motion is powered by a propeller located vertically at the rear. The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph states that rotorcraft are commonly used for low-altitude sightseeing and are very popular in mountainous areas.
Currently, Italian authorities are investigating the details of this incident.
