According to Bloomberg, on August 27 local time, U.S. President Donald Trump said at the White House that he did not believe Russian President Vladimir Putin would attack NATO members.
Trump claimed he had a good conversation with Putin and added that "he wouldn't attack NATO territory".
Earlier that day, he told the American news site Axios that he wasn’t worried about Russia attacking NATO member states. “I’m not at all worried; there isn’t such a problem.”
On the 25th, CIA Director Gideon Rothkreitz visited Russia. According to reports from people who attended a briefing on this visit, Rothkreitz's trip was intended to send a warning to Russia, asking it not to attack NATO countries.
But Trump denied the report on the 27th. He told Axios that Ratcliffe did not convey such warnings, and that the visit was merely a 'routine task'.
He said that he was confused by media reports. “Lattcliffe meets his Russian counterparts once every six months or a year. They have a good relationship. There wasn’t any particularly important information conveyed, and nothing unusual happened.”

He said that Lattcliffe’s visit was ‘semi-routine’, but he admitted that the visit was aimed at ending the war.
On the 27th, Russian Foreign Intelligence Director General Narechkin confirmed that meetings were held between the two sides during Latkifle’s visit to Russia.
Narechkin said that this meeting is "a regular part of both parties' work," and "nothing unusual happened."
He stated that he discussed matters within the scope of intelligence agency responsibilities with Ratcliffe.
