On June 8th at noon, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China, arrived in Pyongyang by special plane to begin his state visit to North Korea.
At around 12:00 local time, Xi Jinping's special plane arrived at the airport. Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Council, and his wife Lee Seung-hui greeted them at the airport. Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan stepped out of the plane and descended the stairs. Kim Jong-un shook hands warmly with Xi Jinping. Korean children presented flowers to Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan.
Cai Qi, Wang Yi, and other accompanying personnel arrived on the same aircraft.
China's Ambassador to North Korea, Wang Yajun, also arrived at the airport to greet him.
