The busy humanoid robots in factories, AI models that challenge global competitors, and vehicle manufacturers that mass-produce electric vehicles are attracting a new wave of foreign visitors to China.
According to a report by Reuters on September 2nd, investors and entrepreneurs are willing to spend thousands of dollars to obtain rare opportunities to visit Chinese factories in person. They hope to witness up close the process that many believe could be the next technological revolution.
Reports say that Western corporate executives and governments must face the possibility that Chinese companies are taking the lead in advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge technology fields.
Shanghai Data Research Company's CEO of BAIJIAN Technology said, "Nowadays, China is used as a model for research and study, which was almost non-existent just a few years ago."
As of now, this CEO has organized two groups of inspections, and has met with more than twenty investors, entrepreneurs, and executives. The five-day trip cost up to $15,000 (about 100,000 yuan), and approximately half of the participants came from Southeast Asia.
Reports indicate that this trend is not accidental. China has clearly stated its intention to “vigorously promote” industrial tourism, establishing over 140 demonstration sites. An increasing number of factories are open to visits; the ticket price for a single visit is approximately $60 (approximately 403 RMB).
