Recently, Maria Bartolomeo, a veteran host on the American conservative media channel Fox News Network, was fired. According to reports by CNN on September 3, sources revealed that Bartolomeo was fired because she had reported on behalf of the White House. Since Bartolomeo is a close ally of U.S. President Trump, this news shocked Trump.
The 58-year-old Batirrom has been working at Fox News since 2014, mainly hosting programs on the Fox Business Channel. She is one of the most renowned hosts at Fox News. Batirrom last hosted a program on August 9th, and for nearly a month after that, she did not appear in any programs on Fox News again.
Reports indicate that Batirom’s contract is still valid for a long time, but Fox News suddenly announced on the 3rd that she would be fired, with her departure “effective immediately”. This shows that the labor negotiations between both parties were contentious. A spokesperson for Fox News explained that firing Batirom was a “business decision”.

Sources told CNN that Battirom had "filed a complaint" against the White House, which was the reason for her dismissal.
According to these sources, in July this year, Bartyrom wanted to discuss in the program the ‘conspiracy theories’ regarding the 2020 U.S. elections expressed by Trump. However, executives at Fox News instructed their employees not to report such statements. Subsequently, Bartyrom sent a text message to White House officials, which contained instructions from within the television station.
According to sources, Fox News management learned about this later on and believed that Batiroum had violated the employment agreement.
Battirom has not responded to the relevant news yet. Fox News said in a statement: “We thank Maria for her work over the past 12 and a half years, and we wish her all the best in the next stage of her life.”
Since Battirom has a close relationship with Trump and is his loyal supporter, Fox News’ decision surprised Trump. Trump posted on social media: “I can’t believe Maria Battirom will no longer be hosting her wonderful programs on Fox News/Commercial Channel… Maria is a professional and a true warrior. Many of her fans won’t be happy about this.”
The American Wall Street Journal pointed out that Bartyrom’s programs often cause controversy. In June this year, American investor Kevin O’Leary claimed during Bartyrom’s program that there was a “Chinese influence” behind those Americans who oppose the construction of data centers in Utah. After this baseless statement was criticized, Bartyrom publicly apologized in the program, and O’Leary admitted that he had no evidence to support his claims.
