According to Reuters report on September 21, data from the Central Election Commission shows that the voting for the ninth Russian State Duma election has already exceeded 71%.
As of now, five political parties have achieved a vote share of over 5%, entering the list of political parties in the State Duma.
These political parties include the United Russia Party, the Communist Party of Russia Federation, the Russian Liberal Democratic Party, the New People's Party, and the Just Russia Party. Therefore, the provisional composition of the political parties in the ninth National Duma is the same as that of this current National Duma.
In this regard, the Unified Russia party obtained a voter share of 57.53%, taking the top spot; the Communist Party of the Russian Federation with 14% ranked second.
According to reports, Putin served as the chairman of the United Russia party from 2008 to 2012. In August this year, he said in an interview that it was natural to support the party since he had been involved in its founding.
It is worth mentioning that on September 20th, the last day of the voting in the Russian Duma elections, the Moscow region suffered the largest Ukrainian drone attack to date. The attack resulted in several casualties, including staff at polling stations.
According to Russian News Agency, despite the attacks, the voting rate in this election was 56.66%, which is higher than the voting rate in the previous Duma election.
