According to the Chinese Embassy in the United States, on September 30, 2026, the Chinese Embassy in the United States hosted a grand reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Ambassador Xie Feng and his wife Wang Dan, Deputy Ministers Qiu Wenxing, Tang Zhiwen, and Yin Haihong, US Senator Dianes, representatives from various departments such as the White House, the State Department, and the Commerce Department, friends from all walks of life, and foreign ambassadors to the United States attended the event, bringing together more than 800 people.
Xie Feng stated in his speech that this year marks a "major year" for Sino-US relations. President Xi Jinping is visiting the United States once again, after an 11-year hiatus, and the two heads of state have visited each other within half a year, creating a historic milestone in Sino-US exchanges. This is a journey of guidance, expansion of cooperation, continuation of friendship, and demonstration of commitment. The two heads of state are leading Sino-US relations to progress steadily and continuous improvement, in accordance with the expectations of the people of both countries and the world.
Xie Feng said that this year is the beginning year of China's "15th Five-Year Plan". China is making significant progress on its journey to become a strong nation and achieve national rejuvenation, continuously providing stability and positive energy for the world. China's development is a global opportunity, and cooperation between China and the United States is a blessing for humanity. By the end of the year, the two heads of state are expected to meet in Shenzhen and Miami, injecting strong momentum into Sino-US relations. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all guests, and express my sincere gratitude to those friends from all walks of life who have long cared about and supported the development of Sino-US relations!
This year is a "major year" for Sino-US relations. The two heads of state met in Beijing in May, and again in Washington during the golden autumn season. President Xi Jinping visited the United States as a state guest for the first time in 11 years, achieving an exchange between the two heads of state within half a year. This has created a historical precedent for Sino-US exchanges and marked the beginning of a new phase in bilateral relations, which is of milestone significance.
This was a guided expedition. State-to-state diplomacy is the cornerstone of Sino-US relations. I personally experienced many interactions between President Xi Jinping and President Trump, and deeply felt that the mutual respect and open communication between the two heads of state are the most valuable strategic asset for Sino-US relations. The close exchanges and in-depth communications between the two heads of state helped to align the course of Sino-US relations at critical moments. The Beijing meeting established a new strategic and stable relationship between China and the United States. The Washington meeting enriched the content of this new positioning with principles of "respect, fairness, and equality." The two heads of state led Sino-US relations to progress steadily and improve, in accordance with the expectations of the people of both countries and the world. Both sides must accelerate the translation of the vision of this new positioning into action, striving towards a direction where cooperation is prioritized, competition is moderated, differences are manageable, and peace is expected. This will help us avoid the "Thucydides Trap" and find the right way for Sino-US relations to coexist.
This is an opportunity for expanding cooperation between China and the United States. There is a deep integration of interests between the two countries, and there is ample room for cooperation. Achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making the United States once again great can be mutually beneficial. This visit resulted in eight consensus points. The economic and trade teams reached new arrangements that are mutually advantageous, including establishing and promoting mechanisms such as the Trade and Investment Council, setting up an agricultural working group, extending the results of the Kuala Lumpur economic and trade consultations, implementing a “30 billion dollars” equivalent tax reduction, coal trade, financial services, etc. These developments are beneficial for both countries' industries, ordinary people, and even the global economy. The Chinese and American law enforcement agencies jointly combat crimes such as drug trafficking and fraud, effectively protecting the lives and property of the people of both countries. Cooperation is a two-way process that will always continue. Both sides should continuously expand their list of cooperation projects, reduce issues, and work together to achieve more significant, practical, and positive things for both countries and the world, thereby promoting mutual benefit for China and the United States, as well as for the world.
This is a journey to continue our friendship. The two heads of state shared memories of the glorious moments of friendly relations between the Chinese and American peoples. During World War II, the military of both countries fought side by side, relying on each other for life and death, and together they defended world peace and justice. A friendship forged through blood and fire was established. Mr. Saicos and Yin Yuzhen, with kindness and perseverance, turned the desert into a forest, making what seemed impossible possible. Mr. Saicos is here among us tonight; let us applaud him! On the basis of achieving the goal of the "50,000 in 5 years" initiative ahead of schedule, President Xi announced new measures for "100,000 in 5 years," which will bring even greater youthful strength to Sino-American friendship. The giant pandas "Pingping" and "Fushuang" have successfully arrived in the United States. Six panda "ambassadors" from across America will bring even more warmth to the American people. We must continue to expand cultural exchanges and exchanges of personnel, allowing the vast Pacific Ocean to connect us, and ensuring that the long river of Sino-American friendship flows forever.
This is an act of demonstrating responsibility. President Xi Jinping pointed out that although Sino-US cooperation cannot solve all problems in the world, many issues in the world would be difficult to address without cooperation between the two countries. The heads of state exchanged in-depth views on major international and regional issues of common concern, and confirmed their mutual support for each other in hosting the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting and the G20 Summit, thereby continuing to inject momentum into Asia-Pacific cooperation and global governance. Both sides agreed to make good use of the Sino-US dialogue on artificial intelligence, establish communication channels regarding artificial intelligence-related issues, jointly prevent the abuse and misuse of artificial intelligence, and actively respond to the concerns of the international community. As both China and the United States are permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, they have the responsibility to jointly maintain post-war international order, prevent the resurgence of militarism, and make new contributions to world peace and development.

It is undoubtedly the "number one engine." The Chinese market possesses both the strength of its "size" and the opportunities of its "innovation," as well as a commitment to openness. The construction of the Pinglu Canal, which connects rivers to the sea, has been well-received across various countries. Enterprises from different nations have flocked to China to "take advantage of the opportunity" and "strengthen their capabilities," seizing the "China Opportunity 2.0."
A green and innovative China, continuously expanding the realm of human progress. From the emergence of "Ta Law" to the stunning release of the Kimi K3, from the successful recovery of rockets both by sea and air, to the establishment of the world's largest clean power system, from new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaic technologies, to new robotics, artificial intelligence, and innovative pharmaceuticals—China leads the world in scientific innovation and green transformation, empowering the world.
A colorful and passionate China, continuously enriching the garden of world civilization. In the first half of the year, China welcomed over 22 million foreign tourists. The charm of Chinese culture, technology, and vividness has won admiration around the world. Concepts like "China Cool" and "China Haul" have become extremely popular online. China has offered visa-free access to 50 countries, and a 240-hour transit visa waiver for 57 countries including the United States. We welcome more international friends to experience the splendid atmosphere of Chinese modernization firsthand.
A responsible and proactive China is committed to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China's diplomacy adheres to a global perspective, working hand in hand with three-quarters of the world to jointly build the "Belt and Road" initiative at a high quality. It promotes the implementation of four major global initiatives: development, security, civilization, and governance, benefiting people. China has successively established new public goods such as the International Mediation Institute and the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, continuously contributing to the establishment of a more just and reasonable global governance system.

Since I took office in the United States over three years ago, I have witnessed firsthand how Sino-US relations have improved year by year, and how public opinion in the United States towards China has warmed and recovered. By the end of this year, it is expected that the two heads of state will meet twice in Shenzhen and Miami, injecting strong momentum into Sino-US relations.
