Trump Cabinet Holds Secret Meeting to Discuss Iran and Saudi Arabia Conflict

According to the American news website Axios, key members of U.S. President Trump's cabinet held several hours of closed-door meetings at Camp David on Friday, discussing the next steps in the war against Iran, as well as the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houla militant group.

This meeting was quite unusual, as the Trump administration did not announce it in advance. The last similar meeting took place in June 2025, just a few days before Israel and Iran went to war.

According to U.S. officials, the meeting was chaired by Vice President Wilson. Attendees included Secretary of State Blinken, Defense Secretary Heardes, U.S. Special Envoy Wootchek, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Gritsklyff, and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Kane.

When talking about the discussion on the Middle East crisis at this meeting, a U.S. official said, “Some decisions have been made, or at least thorough discussions have taken place.”

The White House refused to comment on this meeting.

On Friday afternoon, a journalist asked Trump what his next steps would be regarding Iran.

Trump replied, "If I tell you, you'll have a big news story. But you'll see that things are going very well, and the situation in Iran is not good."

According to CCTV reports, on October 1st, various sources indicated that the US military was increasing its troops in the Middle East, including the USS Roosevelt aircraft carrier strike group, several amphibious warfare ships, and thousands of Navy Marines. In an interview published in Time magazine on the same day, Trump stated that after the November midterm elections, he could 'possibly' order a more intensive attack against Iran.
