According to the WeChat public account “China Maritime Police”, Jiang Lue, spokesperson for the China Maritime Police, stated that on October 8th, the Philippine Coast Guard vessel number 4409 went to the waters near Ren'ai Reef to transfer a wounded person who was illegally "lying on the beach". Out of humanitarian considerations, China immediately allowed the Philippines to use small boats to transfer the wounded person. The China Maritime Police handled the situation in accordance with laws and regulations and provided necessary assistance. The remarks made by the Philippines ignore the facts and attempt to create confusion. China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands, including Ren'ai Reef, and the waters surrounding them. We urge the Philippines to immediately stop their infringement and provocative actions, as well as any false reporting.
