Cuba Slams US CIA Recruitment Efforts, Rubios Calls for Secret Cooperation

On the evening of the 23rd local time, Carlos Fernández de Cosío, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, posted on social media stating, “Now the United States is even engaging in the practice of publicly recruiting CIA personnel. It seems that either the CIA is extremely desperate or has fallen into such financial distress that they have to sell their services like toothpaste.”

According to CCTV reports, De Cosio also posted on social media that the U.S. Senate had established a special committee to investigate intelligence agency violations and abuse of power, and exposed his involvement in assassinations, kidnappings, torture, coups, subversion of legitimate governments, planning and carrying out criminal and terrorist acts.

De Cosio said that the CIA is a "national terrorist organization with a dirty history, and this is only a conclusion based on public information."

On Friday, local time (October 23), U.S. Secretary of State Rubio openly called on Cuban citizens to engage in secret cooperation with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and brazenly promote what he called 'change'.

He insinuated in the article, “For those who seek to bring about positive change in Cuba—now is the time. Unfulfilled promises, corruption, and the privileged lives enjoyed by a few are disheartening. Seize this opportunity and create the changes you desire through secret cooperation with the Central Intelligence Agency.”

According to Fox News Network, as a descendant of Cuban immigrants, Rubio has long advocated for a more tough stance towards the Cuban government by the United States.

Earlier that day, U.S. President Donald Trump declared at a midterm election rally in Florida that the United States was prepared to address the Cuban issue “alongside” ending the war against Iran. He also suggested appointing Rubio to oversee the negotiations between the two sides.

Don't worry. We will handle the issue of Gu Ba on the way back from Iran. We will make a short stop there. Trump stated, “In fact, we intend to let those beautiful ships pass through Gu Ba when returning from Iran. One ship in particular will be stationed about 50 meters from the coast. Then they'll raise their hands.”

Regarding this, Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez dismissed on the 23rd that Cuba rejects any threats from the United States.

He said on social media that Cuban coasts have beautiful beaches, as well as reefs with jagged features. These places are not friendly to those who are hostile and attempt to conquer them.
