Netanyahu Presses for Increased US Support Despite White House Doubts

According to Israeli Channel 12 television, reported on local time on the 25th, a US source familiar with the situation said that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu discussed with U.S. President Trump twice in the past three days, requesting the latter to increase his support for Netanyahu further.

It is said that Netanyahu even suggested specific wording.

However, the source said that the White House regarded Netanyahu’s intensive lobbying efforts to gain support as a “desperate attempt”.

An Israeli news source stated that Netanyahu still proposes a phone conversation between Trump and Israeli journalists to further express his support.

On October 18th, Trump published a public letter to the Israeli people on social media, strongly supporting Netanyahu's re-election as Israel's Prime Minister.

According to a report by the American news website Axios on the 24th, several senior advisors around Trump are increasingly dissatisfied with Netanyahu. Some even believe that if Netanyahu loses the election and a new Israeli government is formed, it might be more beneficial for the United States to pursue its policies in the Middle East.
