Aung San Suu Kyis Son Says Shes in Solitary Confinement

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, reported on October 25th local time, Aung San Suu Kyi's son Kim Arys said that in her first call with her 81-year-old mother for over five years, she sounded physically and mentally healthy, but lived in a state of near-complete isolation.

"She appears completely lucid on a spiritual level and has a strong body," said Aris. "I believe there are no others besides the military or police force nearby, based on my knowledge of her situation. From what I understand, she's been held in solitary confinement throughout."

"I still don't fully know where she is," Ari said, "I think it's an apartment in the Neibei district, with a fence around it and a small patch of weeds."

According to photos released by the Burmese authorities, on the 22nd of this month, Aung San Suu Kyi wore a purple jacket and spoke on the phone with her son in a room at a certain location. Arias said that he had a conversation with Aung San Suu Kyi for about 20 minutes at the Burmese Embassy in the UK that day.
