According to preliminary investigations by Thai police, around 6:30 PM on the 27th, the deceased, Mr. Yang, brought a large amount of cash to a construction worker camp in the La Kham District, intending to pay the monthly salaries to nearly 60 Burmese workers at the scene.

Witnesses told the police that during the payment process, Yang criticized the construction quality of four workers. These four workers were two men and two women, two couples, and they immediately resigned. Yang refused to pay their wages on the grounds that they did not give prior notice as agreed, leading to a violent conflict between the two parties.

According to preliminary police investigations, four individuals used a threaded steel bar approximately 60 centimeters long and knives to assault two Chinese people at the scene. Yang suffered multiple blunt blows to his face and head, with severe bleeding from his mouth and nose. Despite emergency responders continuing CPR at the scene, Yang was declared dead on the spot.

Another 49-year-old Chinese man, named He, who was accompanying the victim, suffered severe head injuries and a stab wound to his back. He was rushed to Srinikorn Hospital for treatment. Thai media have not yet reported on his latest condition.

After the assault, the four suspects robbed the payroll bags at the scene, taking cash worth about 40,000 to 50,000 Thai bahts (approximately 8,000 to 10,000 yuan), and fled in a car.

At 20:00 that evening, the Laika Bang police received a report and stepped in to investigate. Due to the extremely serious nature of the situation, the Thai police immediately joined forces with multiple departments to launch a pursuit.

On the day of the 28th, the police identified the suspect’s escape route. The four suspects drove eastward after committing the crime and eventually abandoned their vehicles, hiding in a vast sugarcane plantation in Pannani Kong District, Chumphon Province. Subsequently, hundreds of police officers, administrative officials, and volunteers encircled the sugarcane plantation, and thermal imaging drones were used for a thorough search.

After more than 5 hours of pursuit, around 6 p.m. on the 28th, the four individuals voluntarily left the sugarcane forest due to exhaustion and surrendered themselves to the police who were waiting at the edge.

A person who found the suspect's tracks revealed to the Daily News that after surrendering, the suspect demanded drinking water and food from the rescuers. As they had been hiding in the sugarcane field for a long time without eating anything, these four people were already exhausted and weak, so they decided to surrender voluntarily.

Currently, the case is still under further investigation, and the Thai police have not disclosed any additional information.
