According to sources familiar with the matter, Anthropic PBC is working with the investment platform RetailBook. The company plans to offer its shares to UK retail investors during its initial public offering (IPO).
Sources familiar with the matter say that Anthropic will follow Musk’s approach with SpaceX, issuing shares through the UK's "Public Offering Platform" (POP), thereby avoiding the need to issue a separate prospectus in the UK.
RetailBook, which holds the qualifications for POP operation, will be responsible for coordinating this stock offering. Other investment platforms will gather investors’ subscription orders and send them to RetailBook.
Sources familiar with the matter also stated that the relevant plan has not yet been finalized, and there is still potential for changes in the plan.
In June of this year, SpaceX used the POP mechanism to sell shares worth $364 million to individual investors in the UK. The POP regulatory framework was initially created to facilitate financing for small businesses in the UK. This action by SpaceX has opened up a path for other companies listed overseas to raise funds in the UK.
According to reports, Anthropic is advancing its listing plan. The scale of this IPO is expected to surpass that of SpaceX.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports that Anthropic has appointed JPMorgan to oversee the share distribution to U.S. individual investors. It is also considered that 15%–20% of the shares in this IPO may be made available for subscription by global retail investors.
