According to an article published by Israel’s newspaper Haaretz on June 15, Israeli officials revealed that during their meeting with U.S. President Trump on the 14th, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel would not withdraw its troops from Lebanon and would continue to maintain its existing positions. He also claimed that Israel was not bound by the relevant provisions of the agreement reached with Iran regarding Lebanon.
Netanyahu said that Israel will not accept any arrangements that limit its actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon. The actions taken by Israel include destroying Hezbollah's positions and counterattacking when attacked.
On the 14th, Israel attacked the southern suburbs of Lebanese capital Beirut. Asadi, the deputy inspector general of the Iranian Armed Forces' Houtham Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated that Israel's crimes in Lebanon "will not go unpunished."
Trump also said on the same day that the attack by Israel on Beirut "should not have happened" on this "special day" when the United States is about to reach an agreement with Iran.
