Iran Classifies UK Intelligence as Hostile Following Reciprocal Measures

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, on November 1st, local time, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the hostile and illegal actions taken by the British government against Iran. It announced reciprocal countermeasures, classifying the British intelligence agency MI6 as a 'hostile organization', and identifying the British Royal Navy and Royal Air Force as 'terrorist organizations'.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the British government's anti-Iranian policies and actions in a statement, stating that they violate the Charter of the United Nations and principles of international law, particularly those related to respect for national sovereignty and the prohibition against taking unlawful measures against other countries. The statement also reiterated that the Iranian government is determined to take necessary measures to defend its national security and interests.

The statement indicates that Iran’s measures are in response to a series of anti-Iran actions taken by the UK over the past year. The UK’s actions include providing military bases, facilities, and logistical support to the US-led aggression against Iran, as well as listing the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard as a target under the National Threat Act of 2026 on July 13, 2026.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these measures were enacted by the Supreme National Security Council Resolution of Iran with the aim of safeguarding national security and interests.

These measures came into effect on November 1st, the day the declaration was issued. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these measures are based on international law and the principle of reciprocity, and stated that the British government must bear any consequences that may arise from them.
