On October 31 local time, Serbian former president Vucic posted a video of his meeting with Hungarian former prime minister Orbán in Belgrade on social media. Vucic said, "Yes, we both lost the elections recently, but we haven't lost our dignity, pride, and our beliefs."
Furthermore, Öhrling said that he was very happy to meet with Vucić, and noted that “friends are always friends, and in difficult times, you make more sincere friends.” He told Vucić, “You can be sure that I will always stand by you.”
Orban also said that the relationship between the two has gone beyond ordinary friendship. Both sides have achieved great success, which has promoted relations between Hungary and Serbia. In fact, a brotherly bond has been established between the two countries and their people. “I am still committed to continuing this journey.”
At the end of the video, Vucic said in English, "We will return." Öhrberg, who had looked serious earlier, laughed at this statement.
In April this year, the Tisza Party led by Mátyás Százárnyai won an overwhelming majority of more than two-thirds of the seats in the Hungarian parliament, marking the end of the 16-year Orbán era. Half a year later, last week, the “Student List – Students Win” electoral coalition secured an absolute majority in the general elections, thereby ending Vucíček’s 14-year rule over Serbia.
