According to TASS, on November 2 local time, Russian President's press secretary Peskov stated that the humanitarian operation in Aleysky, Herasson region, has been successfully completed.
Peskov mentioned that Russia appreciates the assistance provided by the US in relation to the humanitarian efforts in Aleyshki. “We are grateful for the help offered by the US, especially the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.”
He stated that there are currently no plans to initiate a new round of humanitarian ceasefire in other areas of the conflict, nor any specific initiatives in this regard.
"Undoubtedly, in every specific case, the interests of the people, their personal safety, and humanitarian protection will be given top priority," added Peskov.
When asked whether the Ukrainian army might use this ceasefire to reorganize its forces, Peskov said, “It’s best to verify such questions with our military departments. But we have a high degree of confidence that the Ukrainian armed forces have also taken advantage of this time to complete their necessary force reorganizations and other actions. In situations like this, it’s a very common practice.”
Earlier that day, Melania posted on a social media platform, stating that Aleishki’s humanitarian efforts had been successful, and expressing her gratitude for the cooperation between Russia and Ukraine within the framework of the ceasefire agreement.
Action achieved success, vital aid supplies have been delivered to the affected area. Approximately 800 people were able to evacuate. I, on behalf of the United States, express gratitude for Russia and Ukraine’s leadership and cooperation within the framework of the cease-fire agreement in Aljoshki.
Alezhki is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, facing the city of Kherson controlled by the Ukrainian army. Russian President Putin once stated that the Ukrainian army had planted mines around the city, nearly causing a humanitarian disaster.
To support humanitarian operations in the Aleysky region, the Russian military lifted the ceasefire in the direction of Kherson starting at 4:00 local time on October 27th, and cleared mines from the roads leading to Aleysky. On October 30th local time, aid supplies including food, medicines, hygiene items, and fuel were delivered to the city. Evacuation routes were also arranged for residents who wished to leave.
Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova stated on the 2nd that during the Aleishki humanitarian operation, ceasefire arrangements were fully respected, and no accidents occurred. She also thanked Melania for her assistance and coordination in this humanitarian operation, and hoped that such operations could be carried out in a systematic and regular manner.
