According to Yonhap, the suspect in the case of Chinese students killed in Korea, Zheng Changsheng, admitted all the charges brought by the prosecution on November 2.
The 13th Criminal Court of Daegu heard the case on that day. The defense attorney for Zheng Changsheng stated in court that he accepted all the charges brought against Zheng Changsheng by the prosecution, including homicide, damage, abandonment, hiding of corpses, and obstruction of official duties. He also agreed with the evidence presented by the prosecution. The prosecution stated that Zheng Changsheng’s alleged sexual violence against other victims violated the Sexual Violence Punishment Law, and he is currently under investigation by the police regarding this matter. If conditions are met, both cases will be prosecuted together.
Zheng Changsheng is suspected of killing Chinese female student A (25 years old) in his residence in Heyang-yp, Gyeongsan-buk-do, on the early morning of August 20. He also dismembered the body and abandoned it on desolate mountains and incinerators in Gyeonggi-do and Gyeongsan-buk-do. In order to interfere with the investigation, Zheng Changsheng falsely reported the crime, dressed as a woman and went to Dongdaegu Station. He also turned off A's mobile phone near the station. Zheng Changsheng was arrested on the 25th of that month. The university where the victim studied confirmed that Zheng was a Chinese lecturer at that university and that he knew the victim.
