Wang Wentao stated that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, recent economic and trade consultations between China and Canada have made positive progress. This includes further extending the relevant exemptions for the initial joint arrangements. The Chinese side is willing to continue leveraging the Economic and Trade Joint Committee as a main channel for resolving economic and trade differences and promoting economic and trade cooperation. We will continue to reduce the number of issues on the list and extend the list of areas of cooperation. At the same time, we will continue to implement the roadmap for China-Canada economic and trade cooperation. We will strengthen cooperation in traditional fields such as oil and gas energy, agricultural products, and consumer goods. We will also expand cooperation in emerging fields such as new materials, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, and smart agriculture, providing strong support for the development of China-Canada economic and trade relations.
