According to reports from Israel Channel 12 TV on the 16th local time, Israel has requested the United States to provide access to the text of the memorandum of understanding reached with Iran, but this request was denied. To date, Israel still does not know the full details of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding.
U.S. President Donald Trump earlier said that he would hold a press conference regarding the memorandum of understanding, and disclose the text of the memorandum. However, no specific date was specified for the disclosure.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated during a press conference on the evening of the 15th that Israel “has no knowledge” of the specific contents of the agreement reached between the United States and Iran. He also said, “Whether or not this agreement exists, Iran will never possess nuclear weapons. As long as I remain prime minister, this will absolutely not happen.”
Iranian media reported on the 15th that the memorandum includes 14 clauses, among which are provisions for lifting sanctions against Iran, unfreezing $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets, and establishing plans for Iran's reconstruction.
The Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council previously issued a statement, officially announcing that Iran and the United States have finalized the text of the memorandum of understanding regarding the “termination of war negotiations,” and plans to sign it officially on the 19th.
On the 16th, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ravanchi stated that the next round of negotiations between the US and Iran will begin after the signing of the memorandum of understanding. Regarding the signing ceremony, Iranian Parliament Speaker Kalibaf and US Vice President Whitworth will be present.
Lebanese Hezbollah stated on the same day that Iran had assured them that if the terms did not include a complete withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon, Iran would not sign.
Regarding the specific details of the memorandum of understanding, both the United States and Iran still hold different views. It is believed that the long-term lack of trust between the two sides and Israel’s interference have made the memorandum of understanding uncertain before its formal signing.
