Democratic Party Secures Control of Congress, Demands End to Iran War & Cost-Cutting Measures

The American Democratic Party achieved a significant victory in the 2026 midterm elections, winning control of both the House and Senate.

On November 4th, the leaders of both houses of the Democratic Party expressed their demands, calling for the Trump administration to end the war against Iran as soon as possible, and stating that reducing the cost of living for American citizens would be a key policy direction for the new Congress.

American Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said in an interview with reporters at the Capitol on November 4 that Democrats will end the war related to Iran. He pointed out that Congress has the power to control financial appropriations, which is an important means of restricting presidents from starting wars without the consent of the American people. Schumer hinted that Democrats will use their control over government funds through Congress to exert pressure after officially taking over the Senate in January next year.

Schumer said: “Some Republicans have joined us in efforts to bring an end to this war.”

American Democratic Party leader Hakeem Jeffries said in an interview on November 4th that the war against Iran has driven up the prices of gasoline, diesel, and fertilizers, further increasing the burden on American citizens. He emphasized that Trump should end the war against Iran before the new Congress is officially inaugurated. Jeffries also stated that the Democratic Party will focus on addressing issues such as high food, housing, medical, and energy prices.

In addition, Jeffries has previously stated that the Democratic Party will push for the removal of the tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. In an interview on September 29, he said that Trump's tariffs caused ordinary Americans to bear thousands of dollars more in expenses each year, especially in terms of food and daily necessities prices. On October 14, he reiterated this position.
