Trump Declares U.S. Won't Invest in Iran After MOU

According to CNN, U.S. President Donald Trump stated during his participation in the G7 summit in France on the 16th local time that the United States will not invest in Iran after reaching a memorandum of understanding with Iran.

Trump said, “By the way, we are not going to invest any funds in Iran. The rumor that spread yesterday is absurd. We have the right to enter and take action at some point in the future—if I want to do something, or if someone else wants to do something—but we will not invest any funds.”

On the same day, Trump wrote on social media: "Iran has agreed to never possess nuclear weapons! Additionally, the claim that the United States is paying Iran $300 million is false news, spread by Democrats."

Earlier reports indicated that as part of efforts to persuade Iran to accept new nuclear agreements and ultimately end regional conflicts, the Trump administration is considering establishing an investment fund for Iran with a scale of up to 300 billion US dollars.
