During questioning of this suspect, he said that he has voices in his mind urging him to come to Washington and kill Trump. According to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, officers discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen and the suspect admitted that the vehicle contained weapons.

The statement mentioned that agents found a rifle, two pistols, and dozens of bullets in the car.

Chirinos was arrested for several gun-related offenses, and is also accused of using a vehicle without authorization and accepting stolen goods. He is currently being held by the Federal Marshals Service.

This is an example of how agents from the Special Operations Division neutralized an urgent threat to our protected individuals and American citizens, just as in previous cases, by utilizing their extensive training and experience,” said US Special Agent Sean Cullen. “The incident highlights the escalating threats faced by law enforcement and the increasing presence of individuals armed with weapons near the White House complex.”

In May of this year, a person with a history of mental health problems fired near a security checkpoint at the White House, and Secret Service officers immediately returned fire.
