On June 20 local time, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on the social media platform 'Real Social' stating that no tolls would be charged for the Hormuz Strait during the ceasefire period, and no tolls would be charged after the 60-day period ended. However, Trump indicated that unless a relevant agreement could be reached, the United States might charge tolls for the Hormuz Strait to compensate for the costs incurred by the U.S. in 'protecting' the Middle East region.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States published by Iranian official media and US officials earlier, the provisions regarding the management of the Hormuz Strait clearly state that Iran will make every effort to arrange for merchant ships to travel back and forth between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman free of charge within a period of 60 days. After this 60-day period, the regulations for managing the Hormuz Strait will be determined through discussions between Iran and Oman, as well as consultations with other Gulf Coast countries.
