Reuters reported that the U.S. Central Command stated on May 31 that it carried out attacks against Iranian military targets over the weekend (May 30-31). On June 1, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard responded by saying that they had launched a retaliatory attack against a U.S. military base.
The U.S. Central Command stated that the strikes on Iranian coastal targets were in response to Irans previous provocative actions. The U.S. military acknowledged that Irans provocative actions included the downing of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters.
The US military stated that during this operation, various Iranian air defense systems, a ground control station, and two unidirectional attack drones were destroyed.
The US claims that during the current ceasefire period, it will continue to protect its own assets and interests.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran stated on June 1 that the US military attacked a communication tower on the island of Sirek in Hormozgan province, Iran. In response, the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces launched attacks against the US airbase involved in the attack, and destroyed the target.
The Revolutionary Guard warned that it is the Americans who are responsible for such incidents. If similar events occur again, Irans response will be completely different.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard of Iran has not specified the exact locations of the targets they attacked.
