According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, on the evening of July 16, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Khalid in Shanghai, where he attended the World Artificial Intelligence Conference.
Wang Yi welcomed Dal to China to attend the conference and sign the agreement to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization on behalf of the Pakistani government. He stated that Pakistan's participation was in line with the long-term interests of the country and its people, and it also added a new dimension to the China-Pakistan strategic partnership. Artificial intelligence represents a new frontier in technological development. As a responsible major country, China works alongside like-minded nations to establish the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization. The goal is to build international consensus, promote practical cooperation, strengthen capacity building, and ensure that countries, especially those in the global South, benefit equally from the trend of intelligence, thereby avoiding a digital divide in the world. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Pakistan, promote the beneficial development of artificial intelligence, contribute to the economic growth of developing countries, and also drive global technological innovation and progress.
Wang Yi said that China and Pakistan trust each other and support each other. Their relations are in line with the common interests of both sides and always stay ahead of the times. Both sides should jointly implement the important consensus reached by their leaders, maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen political mutual trust, promote cooperation in key areas, establish strong counter-terrorism security measures, and accelerate the establishment of a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future.
