According to the Bangkok Post report on July 19th, Thai Prime Minister Anutin, who is currently visiting China, said that during his interactions with Chinese investors, he found that Chinese investors still have confidence in Thailand as a destination for investment. They believe that Thailand's well-developed infrastructure and geographical advantages make it highly attractive.
According to reports, however, Chinese investors also hope that Thailand will further improve government approval efficiency and reduce repetitive regulations. In response, Anuinthong promised that the Thai side will promote administrative process reforms, reduce business operating costs, and enhance business convenience.
Under the backdrop of increasing geopolitical uncertainty, Thailand possesses the capability to continue serving as a leading industrial production center in the region due to its developed infrastructure and interconnectivity. He said.
Anutin emphasized that the Thai government will not tolerate corruption, nor will it allow Thai officials to demand so-called “tea money” (informal payments). He stated that such practices would weaken investors’ confidence and damage Thailand’s economic competitiveness.
According to reports, during a lunch meeting with representatives of Thai companies in Chengdu, Anutin exchanged ideas with about 110 Thai company representatives. He stated that the Thai government will play a ‘gatekeeper’ role, creating more opportunities for companies that wish to enter the Chinese and global markets.
Anutin mentioned that the relationship between Thailand and China has been long-term friendly, and they are like "family". They will request continued support from the Chinese side for Thai enterprises operating in China.
During his visit to China, Anuinth also unveiled the Chengdu office of the Thai Investment Promotion Board and attended the Thailand-China Investment and Economy Forum.
