According to British Reuters, a shooting incident occurred outside the U.S. Consulate in Toronto on July 27th, local time. Toronto police stated that at least one bullet was fired towards the area near the consulate, but no injuries were reported. This is the second shooting incident involving the consulate this year.
According to police, a police officer responsible for security at the American consulate heard gunshots around 4:45 PM local time on the 27th. Shell casings were found at the scene, and damage was discovered on the front building of the consulate.
A white sedan was seen fleeing from the scene, but due to a lack of aerial support and the suspect vehicle’s high speed, the police decided to stop the pursuit near the highway for safety reasons. No injuries have been reported yet.
Regarding the motives behind the shooting incident, and whether it is related to the earlier attack on the U.S. consulate, the police have not provided any additional information.
