According to US media WSB-TV, on September 3, a small plane crashed near an airport in the central-western part of Florida, resulting in the death of two people.
According to the Hillsboro County Sheriff’s Office, the Lancair Evolution aircraft crashed in a wooded area near Highway 301 and Meslin Avenue in the northeastern part of Tampa city center. Reports indicate that the Hillsboro County Fire Department received several 911 calls around 8:17 am Eastern Time.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the plane was already consumed by the fire.
The crash occurred near Tampa Executive Airport. The involved aircraft took off from this airport, but its destination has not yet been disclosed by authorities.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have taken over the investigation into this case.
According to reports, the National Transport Safety Board of the United States is expected to issue a preliminary report within 30 days.
