He stated that the American negotiators’ visit to Russia and Ukraine was aimed at facilitating further dialogue to end the conflict. Before the visit, both Russia and Ukraine agreed to a three-day ceasefire, which allowed these talks to take place.
According to Vitkov, he himself, Trump's son-in-law Kushner, as well as officials from the US National Security Council, State Department, and Treasury held talks with Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky. In Kyiv, security advisors from countries such as the UK, Germany, and France also participated in the talks.
He said that Trump is trying to stop the killings and is committed to achieving lasting peace.
According to Russian News Agency reports, on the 7th, Russian President's press secretary Peskov stated that Russia does not rule out the possibility of resuming tripartite talks between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine regarding the issue of Ukraine. "However, it is still too early to discuss the location and timing of these talks."
The American delegation visited Moscow and Kiev on the 5th and 6th respectively.
Russian President's Assistant Ushakov said on the 5th that the talks were 'intensive, constructive, extremely straightforward, and based on mutual trust'. American representatives put forward a series of ideas regarding the peaceful resolution of the conflict, and both sides had in-depth discussions.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said on the 6th that three 'very substantive' meetings were held that day, discussing topics such as winter aid for Ukraine, security, and economic support.
